The Senior Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualized nursing care provided to patients and their family members according to current best-evidence based standards, using best judgement within their designated clinical area at all times in alignment with Dubai Health Authority and the organization’s policies, procedures, guidelines and standards. The Senior Nurse must also deliver direct patient care whilst, coordinating and overseeing nursing practice, with the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. The Senior Registered Nurse is responsible to deputize for the Line Manager in their absence, driving forward evidence based practice and taking responsibility for the supervision of staff and the policies and practices that operate within their clinical area.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Exceptional Patient Care Assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing care using evidence-based practices that prioritize patient safety and comfort.

  • Lead with Confidence Supervise nursing teams, coordinate daily operations, and deputize for the Nurse Manager to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Champion Clinical Excellence Perform advanced procedures including phlebotomy, ECGs, glucometer tests, and medication administration with precision and care.

  • Drive Quality & Innovation Collaborate on service improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and policy development to elevate care standards across the facility.

  • Educate & Empower Guide patients and families through treatment plans, promote health education, and support self-management strategies.

  • Ensure Compliance & Safety: Uphold Dubai Health Authority regulations, infection control protocols, and occupational health standards to maintain a safe clinical environment.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to enhance the patient journey and ensure continuity of care from admission to discharge.

  • Grow & Inspire: Act as a role model, mentor junior staff, and pursue continuous professional development to stay at the forefront of nursing excellence.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • At least 3 years’ of experience a similar role in an outpatient setting
  • Proven leadership and team lead experience
  • Dubai Health Authority Medical License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
