About the Opportunity

 

We’re looking for a Registered Nurse III (Ophthalmology) to join our Ophthalmic Perioperative team and provide exceptional care to patients undergoing eye surgeries such as cataract removal, glaucoma procedures, and retinal detachment repair.

 

In this role, you’ll prepare patients for surgery, assist during procedures, ensure a sterile and safe surgical environment, and contribute to post-op recovery and education. You'll also support quality initiatives and mentor junior team members while delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality perioperative and acute care for ophthalmic surgical patients.
  • Conduct assessments and implement individualized care plans.
  • Assist surgeons during procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment.
  • Monitor patients pre-and post-operatively, ensuring optimal recovery. 
  • Triage patients, including by phone, and identify emergencies.
  • Administer medications accurately using evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain clear documentation and ensure compliance with DOH/DHA standards.
  • Utilize electronic medical records and digital health systems effectively.
  • Communicate clearly with patients and families to ensure understanding and comfort.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support staff development. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. 
  • DOH/DHA license. 
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in specialized nursing services with clinical certification in specialized areas.
  • 2+ years of experience in providing OR perioperative care to patients undergoing ophthalmic surgeries.  
  • Completion of required CME hours in line with DOH/DHA regulations.
