Job Overview:
The Clinical Data Abstractor is responsible for the accurate extraction, validation, and reporting of clinical data from electronic medical records to support regulatory compliance, quality benchmarking, and internal performance monitoring. This includes preparing submissions for Department of Health programs and clinical registries, and ensuring alignment with defined metrics, standards, and timelines.
This role is primarily responsible for collecting, validating, and reporting all Department of Health (DoH) metrics, including Jawda, and ensuring that submissions meet regulatory standards and deadlines. Accurate and complete reporting is directly tied to public transparency, benchmarking, and in some cases, financial incentives or penalties. In addition to external reporting, the Clinical Data Abstractor is also responsible for reviewing, validating, and ensuring the accuracy of internal hospital KPIs (Key Performance Indicator). These KPIs are used by leadership to monitor clinical performance, patient outcomes, and drive targeted improvement initiatives. Given the increasing complexity of quality reporting requirements and the growing demand for data-driven decision-making, this role is essential to maintaining our facility’s compliance, performance transparency, and commitment to continuous improvement.
