Role overview:

The Clinical Social Worker provides comprehensive social work services within the legal and ethical frameworks of the UAE. The role focuses on supporting patients, families, and caregivers with social, emotional, financial, and environmental challenges related to illness and healthcare. Key responsibilities include case assessment, therapeutic interventions, safeguarding investigations, care planning, and advocacy. The social worker also fosters collaborative networks, promotes patient independence and well-being, and upholds patient rights. The role requires active participation in quality improvement, interdisciplinary teamwork, and social support activities tailored to individual needs.

Responsibilities

Deliver Social Work Services
Provide comprehensive social work services aligned with legal and ethical standards, supporting patients and families in addressing emotional, social, and financial challenges.

 

Safeguarding and Protection
Respond to safeguarding alerts, conduct investigations, lead best interest meetings, and develop protection plans in collaboration with relevant authorities.

 

Casework and Advocacy
Perform individualized assessments, develop care plans, and offer direct casework and advocacy for vulnerable individuals and families.

 

Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Collaborate with families and healthcare teams to develop and implement support programs, leveraging a team-around-the-family approach.

 

Counseling and Therapeutic Support
Provide counseling, therapy, and specialized interventions such as family therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, and motivational interviewing.

 

Cultural and Social Integration
Act as a cultural liaison, facilitate social calendars for patients, and organize family and community engagement events to support integration and wellbeing.

 

Documentation and Quality Assurance
Maintain accurate records, prepare reports (e.g., for child protection), and support continuous improvement in quality of care and compliance.

 

Communication and Education
