Senior Nurse - Day Surgery Unit

Our facility provides day surgery, outpatient consultations, and comprehensive diagnostic services for over 30 clinical specialties, including a satellite clinic for Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Moorfield Eye Hospital. 

Job Overview:

The Senior Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualized nursing care provided to patients and their family members according to current best-evidence based standards, using best judgement within their designated clinical area at all times in alignment with DOH/DHA and the organization’s policies, procedures, guidelines and standards. The Senior Nurse must also deliver direct patient care whilst, coordinating and overseeing nursing practice, with the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. The Senior Registered Nurse is responsible to deputize for the Line Manager in their absence, driving forward evidence based practice and taking responsibility for the supervision of staff and the policies and practices that operate within their clinical area.

• Capable of escalating concerns appropriately (equipment, staffing, or clinical issues) without delay

• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) and theatre management systems (Cerner, Kronos, etc.).

• Well-versed in JCIA standards, infection control, and hospital policies.

• Experience with incident reporting, participation in audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Understands the importance of documentation accuracy for legal, billing, and compliance purposes

• Strong communicator: gives and receives feedback constructively

• Adaptable and solution-focused—understands the dynamics of fast-turnover surgery and short-stay patient management.

• Embodies accountability, leads by example, and promotes a culture of safety and professionalism.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• 3-5 years’ of experience post qualification
• Proven leadership and team lead experience
• Dubai Health Authority Medical License
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
