About the Program

Join M42's Emirati Legal Trainee Program - an exciting 2-year initiative designed to develop top-tier Emirati legal professionals.

The Emirati training program will begin in September 2025 and offers an unparalleled opportunity for hands-on legal experience as an in-house lawyer in the UAE. As a member of the legal team at M42, you will be able to gain qualifying work experience in a variety of cutting-edge and exciting areas of law.

The program combines structured legal training, professional development, and practical work experience in an innovative and international environment, preparing you for success in the global legal landscape.

Beginning in early September 2025, the program is based at M42’s offices in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As part of your foundational training, you will have the opportunity to attend a 3-week intensive Readiness Program in London (October 2025), delivered in partnership with Flex Legal. The Readiness Program is designed to enhance your business acumen and develop essential soft skills, setting firm and steady foundations for your in-house professional journey.

Over a period of two years, the trainees will gain qualifying work experience through key legal areas, including Corporate Law, Regulatory & Compliance, Data Privacy & AI, Commerical Law, Litigation and Dispute Resolution, and Intellectual Property. A key feature of the program is a 6-month secondment at a prestigious Magic Circle firm in the UAE which will provide unparalleled exposure to high-level legal practices and enriching the participants' expertise.

The program also offers full coverage of training and the exam fees for the English and Welsh Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) - SQE1 in Year 1 and SQE2 in Year 2. At the successful completion of both the SQE exams and the fulfillment of two years of qualifying work experience at M42, the trainees will become fully qualified English law solicitors.

To further ensure participants' professional growth, the program incorporates monthly mentorship sessions and quarterly coaching, guided by the M42 Legal team, Flex Legal, and Magic Circle firms. This carefully structured and holistic program equips participants with the skills, experience, and support needed to thrive in the legal profession.

Important Dates

• Assessment Center anticipated to take place in June 2025 in Abu Dhabi.
• The Emirati Legal Trainee program will commence in September 2025.

 How to Apply

• Application: Please complete the application on a rolling admission basis. 
• Interview process: Selected candidates will be asked to join an initial video interview with the Talent Acquisition team. Following that initial interview, successful candidates will be asked to participate in an Assessment Center in June 2025, based in Abu Dhabi. The Assessment Center will be hosted by senior members of the M42 Legal Team and a Talent Acquisition Partner. Full details of the agenda and requirements of the Assessment Center will be communicated to participants in advance of the day.
